KARACHI, Nov 29: Azizullah Memon, Judge of an accountability court for Karachi division, summoned on Wednesday Hakim Ali Zardari on Dec 8 for recording his statement in a corruption case pertaining to the alleged purchase of a luxurious flat in France.

Mr Zardari, a former MNA and chairman of the Public Accounts Committee of the National Assembly, is facing trial before the court.

Earlier, the court has exempted him from appearing in person and had been proceeding with the trial. However, on Wednesday the court revoked its earlier order, held that the trial of the case could not be completed unless Hakim Ali Zardari, is examined.

The accused had allegedly made misdeclaration regarding assets while filing his nomination papers.
