PBF names 3-man team

KARACHI, June 9: Pakistan Boxing Federation (PBF) on Monday announced a three-member team for 3rd world cadet boxing championship to be organized in Bucharest, Romania from June 19 to 30.

The three boxers between 15 and 16 years old selected for the event by the coach Reinaldo Alveraz Ulacia are Zeeshan Saleem Butt (48kg), Ali Mohammad (52kg) and Karrar Hussain (54kg).

Siddiq Patni will manage the team, while Aslam Qureshi has been nominated as neutral referee/judge for the Bucharest contest.

PBF has selected the three pugilists on the basis of their performance in the national cadet championship last month. Initially eight boxers were selected of which three were finally chosen for the upcoming competition.

A camp for the cadet boxers will continue here at National Sports Training and Coaching Centre to prepare team for the Asian cadet championship in China in October.
