TOBA TEK SINGH, Nov 17: Kamalia Sadar police on Sunday arrested a youth for allegedly using offensive language on Facebook.

One Riaz Gujjar had complained to the police against the accused, Ali Husnain, a resident of Chak 739-GB, demanding registration of a case. Police arrested the accused and also retrieved his computer record.

When contacted, Mahmood Haroon, PRO to DPO, confirmed that the boy had been taken into custody, however adding that action would be taken against the accused if the investigation proved him guilty.

ULEMA: The Ulema of all schools of thought have assured the district administration of maintaining peace in the district.

Addressing the district peace committee meeting at DCO’s office, Maulana Hameeduddin Rizvi, Mumtaz Hussain Gondal, Maulana Shamsuzzaman Qadri, Mufti Abdul Mueed Ludhianvi, Hafiz Abdul Hayee, Christian leader Kamran Pervaiz, Majlis Wahdatul Muslimeen leaders Safdar Hussain Khan and Syed Azhar Hussain Shah said the Ashura had passed peacefully due to cooperation of all religious scholars. They hoped all the religious leaders would continue cooperating with the administration.

DCO Dr Farah Masood, DPO Dr Shahzad Asif, Additional District Collector Malik Khadim Jeelani and assistant commissioners of all the four tehsils also attended the meeting.

SEXUAL ASSAULT: Gojra City police registered a rape case against two boys for sexually assaulting two children.

According to the FIR, the children, residents of Ali Park, were returning home on Saturday night after attending a Majlis in an Imambargah when the accused boys of Mehdi Mohalla overpowered them and sexually abused them. When the victims raised alarm locals caught one of the accused boys and handed him over to police. The other accused managed to escape.
