PESHAWAR, Nov 2: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chamber of Commerce and Industry will establish a special help desk to facilitate private sector’s investment in livestock sector as it offered tremendous potential and opportunities.

This was stated by KPCCI chief Zahidullah Shinwari while talking to a delegation of educationists from the Agriculture University Peshawar that called on the members of the chamber here, according to a press release issued on Saturday.

Mr Shinwari said that apart from setting up a special counter the chamber would also form a livestock standing committee to facilitate businessmen and investors with stakes in the livestock sector.

On the occasion, the visiting delegation’s head Professor Mohammad Subhan Qureshi made a presentation on the establishment of dairy science park in the province.

Professor Qureshi informed the participants about the production of meat in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and said the province was conducive for making investment in the livestock sector and that meat production offered profitable prospects.

He invited the chamber’s members to participate in the dairy science park’s second investment workshop scheduled from November 18 to November 20 and offered them to display their livestock related products during the three day fair.

The chamber’s president appreciated the dairy science park idea and said investment in the livestock sector and an organised effort to strengthen it could help create jobs for the unemployed youth. The sector, he added, could also be a source to earn foreign exchange.

He assured his organisation’s cooperation to the university in its efforts to promote livestock sector in the province.

He said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had tremendous potential of making viable investments in the livestock sector. “Poverty can be effectively checked in the province through public-private partnership,” said the KPCCI president.
