LAHORE, Oct 26: Turkish Prime Minister Rajab Tayyip Erdogan has assured Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif that his country will continue with its cooperation with Pakistan, particularly Punjab, in energy, anti-terrorism, vocational education and other sectors.
He stated this during a meeting with Shahbaz Sharif held in the historic city of Van on Saturday, says a handout.
Welcoming the chief minister and his entourage, Erdogan said the recent visit of Mr Shahbaz Sharif to Turkey would further enhance cooperation in various sectors and promote relations between both the countries.
He said: “Punjab has played an important role in opening new avenues of economic cooperation and further strengthening ties between Pakistan and Turkey. It is a matter of pride for Turkey that it is helping brotherly Islamic country of Pakistan.”
Speaking on the occasion, Shahbaz Sharif said the Turkish investors had made investment worth billions of dollars in various sectors, particularly transport, solid waste management and security in Punjab during the last five years.
