ISLAMABAD, Oct 24: The Sui Northern Gas Pipeline (SNGPL) managing director, Arif Hameed, on Thursday said gas shortfall was expected to aggravate during the upcoming winter.

The government would try to keep feeding gas to the CNG sector in winter, but it would be a challenging task, he said.

“We expect that shortfall will be more than the previous year, therefore, the government is taking all necessary steps to facilitate masses, CNG sector and the industry,” the MD said.

He was speaking at a reception hosted by the All Pakistan CNG Association (APCNGA).

But he categorically said that domestic consumers would be preferred over all.

The MD SNGPL stressed that all the decision would be taken on merit and according to the law.

He made it clear that gas produced in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would be utilised in the same area. —A Reporter
