LAHORE, June 2: A local magistrate issued on Monday notice to the state for Tuesday (today) on the bail application of PML-N’s MPA Aajasim Sharif in a case of beating up a doctor working on the panel of the Punjab Assembly.

The MPA was booked on the complaint of Dr Tariq Bokhari, alleging that Aajasim Sharif had tortured him when he refused to sign a bogus bill of costly medicines which the accused never used.

The MPA said in an application that he was implicated in the case and there was no evidence on the record to support the allegations.

BAIL DISMISSED: A judicial magistrate dismissed the bail application of 10 workers of the PML-N, arrested last week from outside the Punjab Assembly.

Following cancellation of their bail, the PML-N workers moved the additional district and sessions judge who would take up the matter on Tuesday.

Ayesha Javed, Majida Zaidi, Shahzadi Kabir, Shah Jehan, Muhammad Zikariya, Rubina Shaukat, Saira Shaukat, Tanvir Gulzar, Naghma and Tariq Tabassum are seeking release on the grounds that their case was covered under 497 CrPC for grant of bail.
