KARACHI, Sept 14: Tennis maestro Aqeel Khan lived up to his billing while routing sibling Yasir Khan straight to land men’s singles crown in the Sindh ranking tennis championship at Karachi Gymkhana synthetic court on Saturday.

The country’s ace Davis Cupper who has ruled the circuit for well over a decade breezed past second seed Yasir 6-4, 6-2 to maintain his shinning record intact.

The triumph earned him a winning purse of Rs18,000 out of the total prize money of Rs75,000. Yasir received Rs9,000.

Meanwhile, up and coming Malik Hamza sent Raza Sawani packing 6-2, 7-6 to annex juniors’ under-17 singles title.

The under-15 title went to Hasan Farooq who accounted for Raza Sawani, his second defeat in the contest, 6-2, 6-4 in the final.

Aqeel Khan bt Yasir Khan 6-4, 6-2.

Juniors’ under-17 singles:

Malik Hamza bt Raza Sawani 6-2, 7-6.

Under-15 singles:

Hasan Farooq bt Raza Sawani 6-2, 6-4.

Under-11 singles:

Mohammad Dada bt Reyyan Jawwad 8-1.
