SUKKUR May 29: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Sukkur, on Thursday announced the results of Secondary School Certificate examinations of 2003.

According to the notification, in science group, Jawaher Lal, son of Moti Lal, of the Government High School, Khanpur Mahar, stood first by obtaining 738 marks, Syed Mazhar Hussain, son of Syed Iqbal Hussain Shah, of the Public School-II, Sukkur, stood second by obtaining 731 marks and Mujahid Hussain, son of Munawar Hussain Shah, of the Bahria Foundation College, Naushahro Feroze, stood third by securing 726 marks.

Among girls candidates, Humera Ihsan, daughter of Ihsanus Sattar, of the Engro Chemical Grammar School, Daharki, and Samina Tabasum, daughter of Roshan Din Shaikh, of the Modern School, Sukkur, took first position by obtaining 724 marks each, Ranjeeta Rani, daughter of Sudhamon Panjwani, of the Roshan Tara School, Pano Aqil, grabbed second position, and Mehak, daughter of Saeed Ahmad Daoodpota, of the Saint Marry High School, Sukkur, secured third position by taking 720 marks.

In general group, Irshad Hussain, son of Qalibuddin, of the Government High School, Khanpur Mahar, Mudasar Nawaz, son of Ali Nawaz Soomro, of the Government High School, Dadloi, and Ghulam Mohammad, son of Mohammad Uris, of the Government High School, Qamer Din Chandio village, secured first, second and third positions by obtaining 613, 603 and 599 marks respectively.

Among girls candidates, Saira Bano, daughter of Bashir Ahmad Bhutto, of the Government Girls High School, Barrage Colony, Sukkur, stood first by taking 609 marks, Zuneera Shah, daughter of Ali Goher Shah, of the Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Kandiaro, grabbed second position by obtaining 596 marks and Rukhsana, daughter of Mohammad Amim Memon, of the Shah Latif Higher Secondary School, Sukkur, stood third by taking 587 marks.

In science group, 25,629 candidates appeared in the examinations, out which 78 passed in A-1 grade, 2,997 in A grade, 7,060 in B grade, 7,502 in C grade, 1,947 in D grade and 12 in E grade. The pass percentage of boys was 77.25 and of girls 76.77.

In general group, 703 candidates appeared in the examinations, out of which four passed in A grade, 79 in B grade, 263 in C grade, 141 in D grade and 11 in E grade. The pass percentage of boys was 55 and of girls 73.
