KARACHI, May 29: Police on Thursday claimed to have arrested 10 activists of Mohajir Qaumi Movement from different parts of the city.

According to the police, some activists of the party opened fire at a police vehicle in Pir Bokhari Colony 37A. Police returned the fire and arrested three activists, Siraj, Imran and Tariq.

Three pistols were recovered from their possession, police added. An FIR has been registered against them.

Shah Faisal police claimed to have arrested Kamal Khanzada and Mehmood Khan of the party and recovered two pistols from their possession. Police further claimed that the suspects were wanted in several criminal cases.

In a raid conducted in sector 36-B area, police said, Imran, Shahzad and Mohammad Ibrahim, all belonging to the Mohajir Qaumi Movement, were arrested. A klashnikov was recovered from their possession, police added.

Two more party activists, Kafil Raza and Hasan Raza, were arrested from Landhi 36-A, police claimed adding that two pistols were recovered from their possession.
