KARACHI: Four die in accidents

KARACHI, May 29: A young boy was knocked down by a hit-and-run vehicle while he was crossing the main road in Korangi industrial area on Thursday.

The boy, whose identity could not be ascertained, died on the spot, police said.

His body was shifted to the Jinnah Post-graduate Medical Centre for postmortem examination.

In a similar accident, another unidentified boy died on Kashmir Road.

Police said that the 12-year-old boy was crossing the road when an unknown vehicle knocked him down.

A motorcyclist died and his pillion sustained injuries when their vehicle was hit by a bus near Gora Qabristan on Sharea Faisal early Thursday. Police said that Shahbaz Ali, 25, and Shan Ishaq were rushed to the JPMC where Shahbaz was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police have arrested Javed, the errant driver of the bus.

An 11-year-old girl, Sakina, who was seriously injured in a road accident on Sharea Faisal few days back, died at the JPMC on Thursday, police said.

DROWNING: An unidentified young an drowned while bathing off Clifton beach on Thursday. He was swept away by strong currents and later, his body washed ashore near the Sindbad Amusement Park.

The body was shifted to the Jinnah Post-graduate Medical Centre for postmortem examination, before its removal to Edhi morgue.

BODY FOUND: An eight-day-old decomposed body of a young woman was found near Defence Phase-VIII on Thursday.
