HYDERABAD, Sept 6: Hyderabad registered a massive innings and 100-run win over Mirpurkhas on the second day of the three-day match of Senior Regional Inter-District Championship here at the Niaz Stadium on Friday.

Mirpurkhas opted to bat first, scoring 127 in 48.2 overs. Mohammad Shahbaz topscored with 36 that included four boundaries. Hyderabad’s left-arm medium pacer Farhan Ayub claimed six wickets for 35 and Nasir Awais two for 42.

In reply, Hyderabad scored 321-5 in 83 overs. Shabih Hyder hit a fine 111 off 176 balls with 15 boundaries and was ably supported by Shoaib Leghari who hit 58 off 92 with nine boundaries. The other salient contributors with the bat included Rizwan Ahmed (54) who struck four boundaries and a six and Mohammad Qazzafi who scored 48 with the help of five boundaries and one six.

Taj Wassan claimed two for 78 and M.Saddam took two wickets for 81 for Mirpurkhas. Batting in their second innings, Mirpurkhas were sent packing for just 94 in 29.1 overs with only Ghulam Abbas showing some resistance with the bat in his 30 which contained four boundaries and a six.

Nasir Awais bagged five for 35 while Rizwan Ahmed and Shoaib Leghari claimed two wickets each.
