LANDI KOTAL, Aug 16: The political administration rounded up 20 suspects in the case concerning killing of a security official on August 2 during raids in Malagori area of Jamrud tehsil on Friday.

An indefinite curfew has also been imposed in the entire Malagori sub-tehsil for the last three days with roads to the area closed and residents restricted to their houses.

Giving details about the raids conducted in Zeeg Ghar and Sher Braj localities, Jamrud assistant political agent Jahangir Azam Wazir told media persons that unidentified gunmen had killed a naib subedar of Swat Scouts on August 2. He said that 20 suspects, including brother of the prime suspect Mujahid Malagori, had been arrested. He said that more raids would be conducted to reach the actual culprits.

A local elder Haji Manan told Dawn that the entire Malagori sub-tehsil was under curfew for last three days, which had been causing great hardships for the residents. He said that they were short of foodstuff and other daily-use items as forces were not allowing them to come out of their houses.

Mr Manan said that a jirga of local elders had accorded full support to both the local administration and security forces in conducting raids, but despite that they were subjected to an indefinite curfew.
