ISLAMABAD: Former interior minister and a leader of the All Pakistan Muslim League Mian Zahid Sarfaraz has claimed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has assured the United States that retired Gen Pervez Musharraf will soon be released and allowed to go abroad.
Addressing a news conference on Sunday, Mr Sarfaraz said that the release of Gen Musharraf and Dr Shakil Afridi, who had allegedly helped the US trace Osama bin Laden’s hideout in Abbottabad, had come under discussion between Mr Sharif and US Secretary of State John Kerry during the latter’s recent visit to Islamabad.
Mr Sarfaraz, who is chief organiser of the Musharraf-led APML, said the US never left its supporters in trouble and just like Raymond Davis, who shot dead two people in Lahore, both Gen Musharraf and Dr Afridi would soon be allowed to go abroad.
He said Mr Sharif had no courage to seek Gen Musharraf’s trial under article 6 of the constitution.
Mr Sarfaraz said Gen Musharraf was living a comfortable life with his family at his farmhouse, though the same had been declared a sub-jail.

When can we make our own decisions based on our law and fair trial? When are we going to stop being dictated by big powers? In this case if Sharif really does not have a choice then why not trade Musharaf with Dr Aafia Siddiqui?

Musharraf is way way better then any civilian government that has ruled Pakistan .Why would afridi get released . He has sold motherland for some dirty cash money. if he is found guilty then he should get punished accordingly. This shows American can do what ever they want in

Mr. Sarfaraz is wrong to challenge the present government. It shows how weak Pakistan is, that it does not make a difference which government is in power, they all take orders from US. Everybody knows we do not need to advertise to make ourselves look good.

How can Mr Sarfaraz claim that US never leaves its supporters in trouble? What happended to Egypt's ex President Mubarak and others in previous decades? As regards Raymond Davis release, firstly he was an American citizen, a CIA agent for whom even the US President made false statment that he had diplomatic immunity. By now the world knows plus it has already confirmed by all Amercian adminstrations that they only stand by those who are strategically important in US interests.

Perhaps Mian Zahid Sarfaraz needs a refresher in history. Americans only support their "foreign" supporters until they remain useful; Shah of Iran, Marcos, Noriega, Saddam, Qaddafi, South Vietnamese etc etc. Raymond Davis was one of their own with a white skin.

Musharraf is the only leader who is accused of bribes and ill gotten wealth. I dare anyone to prove me wrong. On the other hand...everybody in PML-N and PPP have got theirs hands in the till....while claiming to be "national leaders".

Mr. Zahid Sarafraz, you are the best. You have just topped the list of hippocrates. General Musharraf's biggest mistake is to take you in his party. To be very frank, your appointment has created my doubts about General's capability of running a political party.
Let us hope this two sided sword statement of yours, does not harm the General, instead it exposes your evil designs.
