ISLAMABAD, May 22: President Gen Pervez Musharraf has expressed his deep sense of grief and shock on the earthquake in Algeria which has claimed over 1,000 lives.

In a condolence message to his Algerian counterpart, Abdelaziz Bouteflika, President Musharraf said he was profoundly shocked and grieved to learn about the earthquake resulting in the loss of valuable lives.

“On my behalf and on behalf of the people and government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, please accept our heartfelt condolences. May Allah Almighty grant fortitude and courage to the people of Algeria to bear this irreparable loss,” he added.—APP
