SUKKUR, July 18: A married woman was shot dead allegedly by her husband in Mehar Shah village of Kandhkot town on Thursday.

The B-Section police got the post-mortem examination of the body conducted at the Kandhkot Civil Hospital and handed it over to the heirs.

No case was registered at the B-Section police till the filing of this report on Thursday evening.

Protest

Activists of the Jeay Sindh Tehreek in Kandhkot held a demonstration and observed a token hunger strike outside the local press club on Thursday against police failure to arrest four suspects nominated in an FIR of sexual assault on a young girl.

Led by Ghayal Sindhi and the girl’s father, the activists and relatives of the girl slammed the police for not arresting Deepak Kumar and his three associates nominated in the FIR lodged at the Kandhkot police station on July 3.

The aggrieved Hindu family and JST activists urged the higher authorities to intervene in the matter and order the police to immediately arrest the suspects.
