Good, nay great news! One of the most genuinely gifted singers that Pakistan has ever produced, Naheed Akhtar, is back. Last week the nightingale announced her return to the music industry and the media went berserk with it. This is particularly heartening because after the demise of Madame Noor Jahan, Mehdi Hasan and Menhaz a huge vacuum had developed in the Pakistani music scene (in terms of legendary vocalists’ presence) and Naheed A’s return will fill that gap to a great extent.

We hope Coke Studio has taken note of it!
