QUETTA: At least two persons were injured Tuesday in a hand grenade attack on the office of an influential independent candidate in Lasbella area of insurgency-hit Balochistan province, police said.

Police said militants lobbed a hand grenade at the election office of independent candidate Jam Kamal in Allah Abad area of Lasbella.

The blast injured two persons.

The injured were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Police said the blast partially damaged the office.

Jam Kamal, the son of former chief minister Balochistan late Jam Muhammad Yousaf, is contesting for Lasbella’s NA-207 seat.

In another terrorist attack in the province on Tuesday, militants lobbed a hand grenade at the headquarters of the Levies paramilitary force in Turbat.

Levies officials said the blast damaged the wall of the headquarters. No injuries or loss of life were reported.
