LAHORE, July 5: An accountability court on Friday awarded a jail term of seven years and Rs370 million fine to former provincial minister Malik Mushtaq Awan for committing fraud in contracts of the Sheikhupura district council.
The National Accountability Bureau had filed a reference in 2002 against Awan and others on charges of causing huge loss to the Sheikhupura district council by awarding illegal contracts.—Staff Reporter
