KARACHI: Few hours after announcing his surprise resignation as the chief of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Altaf Hussain withdrew his earlier decision on the appeal of his party workers.

Moreover, the party had announced that its workers would stage a sit-in in front of the British High Commission to protest against what the MQM chief called as a conspiracy hatched against him by the British government to unnecessarily drag him in the investigation of Imran Farooq's murder.

Heavy contingent of police, rangers, and other security personnel reached the site. Water cannons and riot police were also deputed at the High Commission to avoid any untoward incident.

Earlier, Altaf Hussain, the founder of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, resigned as chief of the party in the wee hours of Sunday. Following his announcement, hundreds of MQM workers gathered at Nine Zero in Karachi's Azizabad area, requesting the MQM leader to take back his resignation.

After receiving emotional appeals by party workers, Altaf retracted his decision of leaving reins of the party. Following his latest decision, celebrations erupted at Azizabad, which is the MQM stronghold.

Hussain had earlier said that he was voluntarily handing over all authority and responsibilities as party leader to the MQM's Rabita (Coordination) Committee.

Speaking to media via telephone from UK, Hussain said Scotland Yard police had raided his residence some days ago and had seized some material, following which he decided to voluntarily step down as party leader on moral grounds.

Hussain said he would not seek legal counsel or a solicitor but would plead his case himself if he were to be produced in court in the Imran Farooq murder case. He said that he would accept any decision by the courts.

Dr Imran Farooq was one of the founding members of the MQM, then known as the Mohajir Qaumi Movement. The party later transformed into the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, the largest political party in Karachi.

Farooq, who had also been living in exile in London since 1999, was stabbed to death on his way home from work in Green Lane on Sept 16, 2010 outside his residence.

Recently, the London Metropolitan police had stepped up investigation into the murder, and police searched two residential properties in London earlier this month as part of the ongoing probe. It conducted several raids, arrested some eight suspects, questioned several people and scanned through thousands of documents.

Sunday’s announcement came as a shock to party workers and supporters as Altaf Hussain has served as the chief of the MQM ever since its inception in 1984.

In his telephone conversation with media, Hussain called on his party workers "to stay united, and to continue the struggle that he had once started."

He also urged his party workers to accept all decisions by the MQM's Rabita Committee in the same manner that they acted upon his directions.

Shortly after news of the announcement on TV channels around 5 am, a large number of party workers and supporters were started gathering at the MQM's 'Nine Zero' headquarters in Karachi as well as offices in other parts of the country. The members have requested Altaf to take back his resignation.

Addressing MQM workers in a telephonic speech at 10 am from London, Altaf said until the Imran Farooq murder case investigation was not completed; the party’s Rabita committee would manage MQM affairs.

Moreover, he added that he was being dragged unnecessarily in the investigation of Imran Farooq's murder, adding that it was a conspiracy hatched against him by the British government.

On this occasion, MQM workers chanted slogans and appealed to Altaf to take back his resignation.

Imran Hussain Jun 30, 2013 05:17am

End of an era! I hope sanity would prevail in Karachi and especially among the leaders and workers of MQM while they are selecting a new leader.

MAX Jun 30, 2013 05:22am

Excellent article DAWN. Love the details/ What a detailed analysis !

Syed Jun 30, 2013 05:21am

That we be a very great favour from Attaf Hussain, I wished this is his manly decision.

MS Jun 30, 2013 05:24am

Good riddance! Now that he feels his end of his fiefdom is near he resigns. Lets see how many sympathizers we have for this repetitive fugitive on this forum. Not an iota of sympathy from my side for this drama queen.

khalilsharif Jun 30, 2013 05:37am

It is good step taken by Mr. Altaf Hussain. I am sure that now peace will come in Karachi.

Ahmed Ali Jun 30, 2013 05:39am

Full Drama lol

just_someone Jun 30, 2013 05:42am

Backward deal with PML-N to save his neck?

Badar Jun 30, 2013 05:52am

Altaf Bhai....My heart is broken with this decision of yours.

Karachi and Pakistan will not be same without you. We want you to remain active. We don't want to miss your speeches. Come back home if necessary.

Amir Ikram Jun 30, 2013 06:04am

he would be back soon on the 'request of the masses'. how humble?....

shakir Jun 30, 2013 06:03am

I hope this is not a drama. Karachites will welcome his resignation.

concerned Jun 30, 2013 06:06am

raises more suspicions.Hundreds have been killed and thousands terrorised.

Hussain Naqvi Jun 30, 2013 06:15am

A wise step taken by the man responsible for unrest and destabilise of Krachi. Now it is operating that MQM may play a constructructive role in National polics, since the party may be freed from the influence of their foreign

Imran Jun 30, 2013 06:34am

Justice for everyone.

Nadir K (KPK) Jun 30, 2013 06:36am

Give him day or two , he will renege on his words. Very soon thousands will gather in the streets of Karachi and "plead' with him to withdraw his resignation and he will 'oblige' them. It seems London police is tightening the noose.

Jkpakistani Jun 30, 2013 06:36am

Good move!

I. Ahmed Jun 30, 2013 06:39am

Noose getting tight? Another topi drama. He should be given Oscar for directing, producing and acting such dramas.

Shahid Jun 30, 2013 06:45am

Innocent until proven guilty but the guilty knows the facts, let's hope the Scotland Yard stand up to their reputation.

fida sayani Jun 30, 2013 07:00am

Hope this one is not one of his usual announcement, because he has the habit of denying things at the later date. However my hope is that he stay put in London and members of MQM should dissolve the party and join hand with their Sindhi brothers and adopt Sindhi language and customs and work for the glory of SINDH.

A. Khan Jun 30, 2013 07:04am

Altaf bhai bit off more than he could chew on this one. Great decision to step down. And the next one will be to take the position back on pressure from party members and "adoring" public.

Pervez Taimoor Jun 30, 2013 07:04am

Altaf Hussain is one of the biggest drama makers. It just another piece of show we'll witness !

Azam Jun 30, 2013 07:11am

May Allah bless the soul of Dr Imran Farooq. Inshallah the crminal will be behind the bars in a few days.

just_someone Jun 30, 2013 07:18am

This is honestly one of the happiest days of my life!

Siddiqui Jun 30, 2013 07:29am

No worry, we are united and will remain steadfast with MQM in any worst situation, Allah extract you from all kinds of perturbations.

Amir Jun 30, 2013 07:41am

Heat is on. Run altaf bhai.

Burki Jun 30, 2013 07:50am

so, Altaf Hussain his residence was searched by police in UK, how come Dawn never reported it?

Khan Jun 30, 2013 07:50am

Finally, he realized that he cant mess with UK's law. He realized it is not Pakistan. I hope his departure will bring peace to the poor people of Karachi,

Khan Jun 30, 2013 07:53am

I think his days are numbered. Allah's noose will get tightened and more tightened around his throat in the coming days. The real facts are now bound to come out.

Safdar Jun 30, 2013 07:59am

it is all drama... he will reverse his decision due to pressure from his workers.... we have seen this so many times before....

Sharfuddin Jun 30, 2013 08:03am

Now its time for the Government and Supreme Court to take serious actions against rest of MQM leaders in Pakistan and completely imposed ban MQM party that enables its workers to curtail its activities.

guest Jun 30, 2013 08:12am

wanna stir another drama..

Tintin Jun 30, 2013 08:31am

Sami Jun 30, 2013 08:36am

It could be a positive turning point for MQM, but they are not enough wise, and for Karachian too, but they are not much lucky.

mazharuddin Jun 30, 2013 08:37am

To investigate the brutal killing of Imran Farooq is prime responsibility of British government and its police. I hope British authorities will continue their honest and just efforts to bring culprits to law. Everyone should cooperate with the authorities investigating the case. No one should be above law, each one's life is precious. Karachi faced 11000 killing during last five years ruled by MQM, PPP and ANP. These tactics of protests and violence should come to an end in Pakistan too, Sindh government must prove itself to bring culprits to justice.

Adeel Jun 30, 2013 08:52am

How many times he has quit in past....

Raza Jun 30, 2013 08:49am

the end of an era

Mustafa Jun 30, 2013 08:54am

This is very funny! Here's what's going to happen: - Altaf Hussain will fight case on his own - British authorities will be lenient and in fact supporting of Altaf Hussain - Altaf Hussain comes out as "innocent" - Altaf Hussain becomes a "hero" - Altaf Hussain returns to MQM

In conclusion, this is part of a greater plan to regain legitimacy among manipulated Karachiites.

Efaz Jun 30, 2013 08:56am

We want you back Bhai.

Efaz Jun 30, 2013 08:54am

We want you back Bhai.

Billoo Bhaya Jun 30, 2013 09:09am

Scotland Yard is tightening the noose around his neck so he made the announcement in the middle of both British and Pakistani night. Tells it all, I guess??

AK Jun 30, 2013 09:08am

I think this this right time that someone else lead MQM now !

rayazkhan Jun 30, 2013 09:18am

at last the murderer of thousands of people will face what he earned, i wonder if his so called followers would realise what kind of criminal they have been following

Mian Jun 30, 2013 09:25am

Please Altaf Hussain a wise decision, donot take it back. Well done

Ali Jun 30, 2013 09:30am

Thank God. What a wonderful news.
If I may ask, he is passing on the remote control to who?

Khurram Jadoon Jun 30, 2013 09:38am

Drama, to pressurize Nawaz Govt. prior to his talks with Cameron. This will go live through out the day on all Pakistani channels where his minions will be shown pledging him to take his decision back.

tariq Jun 30, 2013 09:34am

what you sow so shill you reap

Aquarian Jun 30, 2013 09:44am

I am sure people of Karachi will breathe a sigh of relief on this decision. Please don't change your mind Altaf :)

Adeeb Jun 30, 2013 09:43am

Drama, and then in the next scene, he will be requested by all the people not to do so and he will accept the position again losing to the requests of the workers and in the interest of the nation. What a pity!!!

shahbaz Jun 30, 2013 09:50am

So finally he is near to be rewarded to all his deeds. but ironically it is British police department who stepped ahead to grab him on his merciless behavior to the people of Pakistan. This is just the beginning and no sooner he will be behind the bars and the Karachi will have a sigh of respite. He had divided Karachi into the provincialism, sectarianism and on the cast bases. He turned this peaceful city into the chaotic state and all the time the terrorist activities have a clear link to his party.

muzammil ullah khan Jun 30, 2013 09:54am

I think the noose has tightened and the "Karma" has caught up with this joker .

Juned Jun 30, 2013 10:02am

sarim hamza Jun 30, 2013 10:00am

Allah kay haan dair hey andhair nahi. Good times are near!

M Jun 30, 2013 10:01am

Wow, Altaf and morality. That's joke of the century. good riddance anyways.

EQ8Rhomes Jun 30, 2013 10:04am

Good on ya, Altaf! Now return to Pakistan and help rebuild it from home turf, instead of directing matters and threatening from cushy British turf.

Rehman Jun 30, 2013 10:11am

He stepped down not on moral grounds but it is a diplomatic attempt to save himself from the ongoing probe against him because the British people particularly members of House of Commons have started to ask from their govt that how could a British citizen intrigue or manipulate people in any outer independent state. would the British govt will allow any person, citizen of some other country to lead masses in such a manner in Britain.

Tariq uk Jun 30, 2013 10:15am

Allahu akbar!!! This is just the start inshallah is pe zawaal aur ayaen gae! Justice will reach you.

Fayzee Jun 30, 2013 10:24am

@Burki: It needs courage to report anything of that sort; especially in Karachi..

noorilhuda Jun 30, 2013 10:30am

Does this mean Karachi will be more peaceful? Because that is what matters MOST.

Umar Jun 30, 2013 10:40am

What a Drama Queen !! Honestly ...

PK Jun 30, 2013 10:42am

Its drama! All is plated. All he wants to destroy the peace of Pakistan.

sami Jun 30, 2013 10:43am

The end time is not far now.

paksitan Jun 30, 2013 10:53am

shukar hai jan chooti..karachi waloon ki ALLAH ny suun li.....

Irfan Jun 30, 2013 10:55am

I am so glad that this happened. I was waiting for this news for a very long time. I just hope something good come out of it and ppl who follow him as if he is some prophet will be able to see his real face.

Mazhar Hasan Jun 30, 2013 10:51am

This is all a drama. Our Altaf Bhai is a wonderful actor. Very soon you'll hear that on the insistence of party workers he withdrew his resignation!

AQ Jun 30, 2013 10:56am

About time. Alhamdulillah

J.S. Jun 30, 2013 10:56am

"Shortly after news of the announcement on TV channels around 5 am, a large number of ZOMBIES were started gathering at the MQM's 'Nine Zero' headquarters in Karachi as well as offices in other parts of the country. The ZOMBIES have requested Altaf to take back his resignation. "

fauz Jun 30, 2013 10:56am

This decision should have come long before when he became British citizen. But it is always better to be late than never. I heard his full speech on private channel on 29th June. All his talk was non sense. He being a British national was giving anti Britain statements. He said police searched his house for many hours and does not know what they have taken away. How funny. He even could not find out what things are missing. Why is he so worried when he is not even charged with any crime yet. This is called "chore ki darhi mein tinka". I want to let all know that this man initially with one 90 cc motorcycle and a small house in Azizabad is now multi millioner in UK with 2 houses and living like prince and God knows how much cash value. He went there for asylum. His dream came true but still talking about poor and peasants. He should know that it is Scotland Yard and not Pakistan police. They will reach to the root and find out the person responsible for Dr Imran Farooq's murder. Let them do their job. If he is not involved in it, he should not worry at all and stop talking like a crazy person and fooling general public. I am also very much interested to know like he does that who killed Imran Farooq.

Saad Jun 30, 2013 11:00am

Another drama unfolding.............

Hmmm Jun 30, 2013 11:02am

Awww, lets see how many days before he takes back his decision for the "interest of the party" ... lol

Khan Jun 30, 2013 11:05am

Good riddance !

Khan Jun 30, 2013 11:06am

Good riddance .

Ayaz Jun 30, 2013 11:11am

Altaf Hussain is probably the most democratic and visionary of all Pakistani politicians. He is going to become even more popular. He made a risky but very smart decision.

Munaf Surani Jun 30, 2013 11:09am

Finally justice be served

Patriotic Pakistani Jun 30, 2013 11:13am

Good riddance to bad rubbish! Allah is great!

Mr.T Jun 30, 2013 11:18am

Doesn't matter what happens to him Karachi will be burn, When something happens to them in Pakistan they protest in London and american, as they are their supporter. Now what will they do they protest in Pakistan ? mqm should call strike in, Edgware, Middlesex london, go out their and protest go and burn cars, do some target killing their, at-least do some firing their, block one single road / street in edgware, middlesex ?

saqib Jun 30, 2013 11:16am

very brave decision, don't know how long he can stick on this. other politicians need to follow him.

Irfan Jun 30, 2013 11:24am

@Siddiqui : You people can not change, your eyes are shut and your hearts are sealed, can not distinguish between right and wrong.

Reelz Jun 30, 2013 11:26am

Good riddance. The guy is simply out of it. There are reasons why he ran away from pakistan & I am sure that Scotland Yard raid at his residence created the pressure. Having said that, I still believe it is a drama as we have seen so many in the past.

Akhter Husain Jun 30, 2013 11:22am

True stalwart of democratic traditions,he resigned even on unproven and speculative rumors. The democratic forces must take lessons, specially those whose cases are pending in courts since long..

Umar Jun 30, 2013 11:26am

Any body knows , When he will take his decision back in the largest benefit of this nation ? any time line ?

AR Jun 30, 2013 11:24am

Another Drama by Altaf

Khalid Butt Jun 30, 2013 11:24am

AJ Jun 30, 2013 11:25am

An Asset has turned into a liability

Shah Faisal Jun 30, 2013 11:26am

I am very disappointed by the role of media, they don't have the courage to speak about the truth openly, which is highly regrettable, I am very thankful to Altaf Bhai today for showing more courage than our so called independent media.

pakistan Jun 30, 2013 11:30am

XIsh Jun 30, 2013 11:32am

Billz Jun 30, 2013 11:34am

Refreshing news. Wish MQM could just vanish completely. They have ripped Karachi apart :@

Faraz Jun 30, 2013 11:36am

@Burki: It was reported as "high profile pakistani politician" without naming AH.

umar Jun 30, 2013 11:37am

@AK: Every time he decided to leave was Right Time and Decision but U Turn is one of his quality and already too that this time as well.

Syed Asif Zafar Jun 30, 2013 11:44am

I Belive altaf aware what going to happin after full murder report will come.He is wise .Know MQM have a chance to reform the party and get out of label of karachi and come as a national party.MQM also need to start cleaning inside the pary.I strongly belive altaf should not come back.Good for MQM

sh Jun 30, 2013 11:47am

he is back as usual, no real intention to leave the party leadership.

JOHN Jun 30, 2013 11:45am

I thought Altaf is back in Pakistan. Now read that he is not, I smile as they always quit and join like the fast five years with PPP government. When one is lost, then they change directions and decisions on and off.

Saeed Jun 30, 2013 11:50am

I dont know why someone is afraid of an inquiry if he has not done anything wrong. MQM should be happy if killer of their slain leader is holed up to meet the end of justice.

Safdar Jun 30, 2013 11:53am

@Raza: what era..!!??

Safdar Jun 30, 2013 11:50am

@Efaz: you want him back not' we,'

kevin Jun 30, 2013 11:51am

it just a game which is being played by MR Hussein, however what so ever we were hearing from Pakistan that his party peoples are crying and begging him to take his resignation back. i would like to clear concept of his party people living in Pakistan. people this is England not Pakistan, whoever is guilty he will be dragged and justices will be held accordingly, whatever you all do will not be treated here as pressure here in UK. if he is guilty or involved in his partner case then he will be dragged in court

so you all can stay all night in front of his house or HQ whatever it called and demand anything which eventually wont effect Scotland yard or UK police.

they had proper documentation and search warrant to search his house and i do trust UK police because they do not drag any one without any proof or hint

kevin Jun 30, 2013 11:56am

gulzar Jun 30, 2013 11:57am

Poor reporting, no details how many time this has happened before, I remember it is the 3rd time of this drama. And silent as usual Educated middleclass leader ship or robots controlled from London.

ilyas Jun 30, 2013 12:01pm

Why is he so upset about Imran Farooq murder investigation? Why MQM so far haven't done a single strike on Imran Farooq murder? British Govt will never allow a murder on their soil and they will expose those involved. ISI will now handover the 2 suspects to Scotland yard.

Abbas Jun 30, 2013 12:02pm

there can be no smoke without fire ! the UK police dont just raid homes until they have got conclusive evidence of commission of a crime - in time the truth will come out! this is not pakistan where justice can be delayed or bought to suit the accused parties

Raza Jun 30, 2013 12:03pm

What a Drama Queen......

Raheel Jun 30, 2013 12:08pm

He Must be hanged.

Safdar Jun 30, 2013 12:05pm

I was the first one to post my comment here that this is all a drama and he will soon reverse his decision..... This party is a waste of time and a directionless party....

Bilal Jun 30, 2013 12:12pm

Nothing is above the law...Why will Uk government drag Altaf Hussain to the case? There must be some proves and evidences against Altaf Hussain. The speech appeared at the right time when david cameron arrived Pakistan. What is the purpose of One day visit? He is here to let government inform that Uk police is going to arrest Altaf Hussain. Nothing is above the law in UK and they have show great responsibility by not even declaring that they raided Altaf Hussain House. I will be happy that Altaf Hussain will reach to the conclusion he deserves but i wish for the safety of Karachi and other cities

raheel Jun 30, 2013 12:14pm

Dawn changed the title and contents of this news article after AH took his resignation back. Effectively rendering all the comments irrelevant

Anees Jun 30, 2013 12:15pm

Yet another episode of " The Joker ".

gr8 drama by gr8 dramabaz

rad786 Jun 30, 2013 12:18pm

Altaf bhaiiiii ... please put an end to this charade. This is not the first time you have "resigned" as party head and your lackeys have duly asked to take it back. Reminds me of my school days when classmates would bunk school because they're grandmother had died, and she had died more than once!

sherazi Jun 30, 2013 12:21pm

@Burki: they did but didn't had enough courage , like all other media houses and just mentioned two homes were searched.

Abdul Malik Jun 30, 2013 12:23pm

This was nothing but an eye wash and a drama staged by Altaf.

Ashfaq Jun 30, 2013 12:23pm

English and Urdu media remained hushed up over this matter. Now that he has finally spoken himself. The Pakistani media did not speak well in the past couple of years too. The murder of MPA of Sindh Assembly and his son was also part of this conspiracy. Because the younger Qureshi was about to be questioned by the Scotlandyard -- the British rumours say. A traitor is a traitor.

Nasir Jun 30, 2013 12:24pm

He is a big dramy bazz... have done this multiple time in the past. It was expected that he will take his resignation back .. but within 5 or 6 hours has made it a lot funny this time ... LOL

Ejaz Ahmed Jun 30, 2013 12:28pm

this is a trademark of MQM. First resign then retrieve. What a joke.

Ejaz Ahmed Jun 30, 2013 12:26pm

@Efaz: What your Bhai has done for you. He is sitting in outside Pakistan.

Ejaz Ahmed Jun 30, 2013 12:28pm

@Burki: Ooooh! it is surprise to me. so Dawn why didn't you report it? Jun 30, 2013 12:33pm

What a drama queen. Im looking forward to justice being served & Altaf Hussain being brought to justice for the murder of innocent & virtually single handedly destroying the economic hub of Pakistan & transforming it into a ruin.

Ejaz Ahmed Jun 30, 2013 12:30pm

@Siddiqui : You should be ashamed of mentioning Allah in this regard.

Facts Jun 30, 2013 12:33pm

As long as you are divided as Mahajir , Punjabi , Sindhi ,Pathan and Bloch. corrupt will keep ruling you and you will keep begging the world for money. The day you become one as a muslim Your problem will start to disappear

The topee drama continues .... :)

Poor journalism and use of language. What is meant by the word 'wee' hours...who is the intended reader? A Scottish person. Please use correct English.

Another of his "self centered " drama by this pir of London . he is a British subject so his own police has done if wrong , let him go to the court their and seek justice , Why bother people thousands of miles away , There is a murder ( a duel national like himself ) of a British subject , British Police is investigating , if they stepped outside their lawful jurisdiction in invading and searching his house after 2 years of investigations , Then why cry foul and dramatize it ? Go face the court and defend your Rights as a British subject , ..... Niow do not cry foul and tell the world British are out to kill me , go man go to the nearest court and get yourself legal and lawful relief ....... Spare the Poor Pakistanis from your over dramatization .......... We have enough of our own problems , why bother us with your British subject related scenarios ......... FSCE THE REALITY AND DEAL WITH IT THERE IN THE EDGWARE ROAD COURT

Jamshed Jun 30, 2013 12:47pm

AK Jun 30, 2013 12:54pm

Good Move? resignation or withdrawal?

ZUK Jun 30, 2013 12:54pm

Why one party/MQM is investigated into it? Something selective persists in nationally and internationally

JAMBAL Jun 30, 2013 12:54pm

We already knew he will soon withdraw his resignation in the greater cause of nation! This drama is now very old and rotten. Show us something else to amuse!

Azzy Jun 30, 2013 12:57pm

AH stages another drama.

DANISH Jun 30, 2013 12:57pm

This is all for the pressure to the British PM who is visiting the Pakistan. This drama ends as was planned. He not want to die as an ordinary man

umair Jun 30, 2013 01:00pm

@Efaz: really?

Azmul Hussain Jun 30, 2013 01:00pm

"Surprise resignation"? Are you sure Dawn? I don't think anyone was truly surprised by an act that has been practiced many times before and with the same result.

Raja Jun 30, 2013 12:58pm

So he is back now ... anyway Who Cares?

waseem Jun 30, 2013 01:03pm

Apter persistent request of workers Altaf Hussain has taken back his resignation from party

ZUK Jun 30, 2013 01:05pm

Why MQM is investigated into it alone?

Sameer Jun 30, 2013 01:05pm

How many tmes has he resigned and then came back??!!??

arqum Jun 30, 2013 01:10pm

He seems like a hilarious character of a movie whose duty is to entertain people with his different acts!

Khalid Jun 30, 2013 01:11pm

Parde mein rehne do, parda na uthao, Parda jo uth gaya to bhaid khul jaega!!

Ghazi Jun 30, 2013 01:11pm

Good Riden I hope some one more intelligent from out of thousands members living in Pakistan , with Pakistani nationality and in touch with the grass root worker should lead the Party in more civilized and appropriate manners .

Muhibullah Jun 30, 2013 01:17pm

Hilarious! Meanwhile the house of cards back home is collapsing as well. No one trusts each other at Nine Zero. All the Urdu/Gujrati speaking security staff has been replaced with Baltis because of the fear that a Muhajir guard may be a partisan of one faction or the other.

Nasir Jun 30, 2013 01:18pm

How about his stance that:

he would not seek legal counsel or a solicitor but would plead his case himself if he were to be produced in court in the Imran Farooq murder case. He said that he would accept any decision by the courts.

Has he also rescind from it? I would not surprise if he do, as U turns are no surprises here.

Tarif Khan Jun 30, 2013 01:18pm

What a drama queen.

Rashid Sultan Jun 30, 2013 01:17pm

Why is he living in London to lead a political party in Pakistan? Even Mian Nawaz Sharif came back from Exile. If Britain is making it difficult for him why not return to Karachi? Is his life threatened in Pakistan? Can someone enlighten me please?

Fahim Jun 30, 2013 02:01pm

Rest assured Altaf Bhai that the British Police is different from Pakistan police, so don't worry too much, justice will be done.

Osman Jun 30, 2013 01:57pm

This man is a star... should take up a career in Bollywood!

And our nation is full of goldfish, with extremely short-term memory: they cannot recognize a drama even when it is repeated in front of their eyes again and again and again!

Naved Jun 30, 2013 01:58pm

After seeing the comments below, I can say Altaf Hussain is not an angel like other politicians/power players of Pakistan. Definitely, there are areas of improvement in MQM's politics and Altaf Hussain's personality, but with the eagerness and spirit some people criticize MQM/Altaf Hussain, it seems they are biased. The hate can be felt in their way of communication. The people who have not enough words to criticize taliban and extremely corrupt politicians of Pakistan start jumping around when they get an opportunity to say some thing about MQM/Altaf Hussain. As per my understanding majority of such people are political opportunists, influenced by baseless propaganda or language factor could be there behind their extreme dis-likeness.

Ahmed Jun 30, 2013 01:59pm

@Safdar: Bang on target. This is MQM's history. Something that vast majority of MQM supporters fail to notice.

Qamer Uddin Jun 30, 2013 02:09pm

this shows how ordinary people hates MQM

The mind boggles as to what justification the police used to conduct the raid, surely there was no evidence to be had after so much time had lapsed. Looking for weapons of mass destruction where there are none or the police trying to salvage their credibility after their initial inaction or this was a fishing trip and they were looking for something else, perhaps we will never know.

Altaf Jun 30, 2013 02:35pm

Well written and played drama to gain sympathy of common Urdu speaking man.

Aziz Jun 30, 2013 02:45pm

Genuinely resigned ? No! Never!

Removed ? Yes, (eventually by Her Majesty's government according to law!)

Musa Jun 30, 2013 02:50pm

The worst leader ever come across to my entire life who leads his party through phone calls, Provokes people through his speech, Obliged them to reach on saturation point, Even nobody knows in his party what he wants to say just blame the Establishment since he owned the leadership.

akram Jun 30, 2013 02:59pm

If I can gather thousands of people outside Altaf residence in Edgware, calling on him to resign, London will he resign again?

Javed Iqbal Jun 30, 2013 03:06pm

WE KNEW IT - he will not go like this, but wait, British Police will liberate Karachi SOON once and for all

Daniyal Jun 30, 2013 03:05pm

I wonder, Bhai has never been given an Oscar. Discrimination.

Shaikh Mohommd Jun 30, 2013 03:07pm

Altaf Bhai should go back to Pakistan OR shut up. Is he a leader? Staying outside the country he leads! He is a British National and not a Pakistani leader.

Please Altaf Bhai don't go. Nobody will give us Bhatta without your patronage. MQM won't be able to send you allowance to live in London. Bhai why why you had to go to London which is so expensive. You could have gone to Somalia and started a branch of MQM there. They needed your expertise. Bhai please please please take back your decision. I don't know what I am saying I am just emotional.

hyder Jun 30, 2013 03:21pm

M. Anwar Qureshi Jun 30, 2013 03:30pm

This is all political DRAMA and must stop. If you want to resign, go ahead and resign. If you want to disband MQM, go ahead do it. If you are in trouble in UK, you are UK national and face the music. Why are you crying over the phone and taking unnecessary TV time for just like Sham-e-Ghariban. Pakistan have other enough problems.

Abu Jun 30, 2013 03:37pm

He could never produce a Thriller movie ..specially sequels

Syed Jun 30, 2013 04:18pm

The most interesting part in the speech is that he is threatening even UK govt of the consequences if the case is pursued against him..!

Farooq Jun 30, 2013 04:16pm

@saqib: He was never an 'asset'

moazzam Jun 30, 2013 04:24pm

Media is so biased in Pakistan. Media kept reporting "a house has been raided by London Police", they never said Altaf's house was raided... I don't know how Altaf gets so much air time... And, people of KHI... What can I say about them... They aren't good... Instead, they're too good! KHI is a city under hostage. Shame on media!

ailly Jun 30, 2013 04:55pm

He ( Altaf ) give good news for a fleeting moment though in dark hour of the night ... people hardly started rejoicing but in the pitch dark dawn again he took u-turn and revoked his resignation. During that short moment of joy I was thinking now MQM would become chain-free and independent party but alas, this guy is adamant in destroying voice of millions of urdu-speaking people in Karachi who were forced to voice.

Nevertheless, his statement for "international conspiracy" hatched against him by UK govt is too funny and holds no water at all. Pride hath a fall, he will harvest what he had sown in Pakistan 28 years ago. Until now no one / no department have nominated him in Imran Farooq's murder case and already started jumping on his seat that he will be indicted. Crocodile tears won't stop justice or the inevitable to happen.

On the contrary I would suggest / request and beg M Q M to nominate another leader and live a better and peaceful life, try and get rid of this clown, sooner the better for party workers and integrity of the party. This mindless person until now has just focused on saving his own life, at the expense of his party workers. In late-80s and early-90s MQM was picking up the momentum but this guy rather than facing tough times, fled for UK and now he is becoming anti to UK govt just like he did against Pakistan. So a true turner.

Natasha Mohmand Jun 30, 2013 04:56pm

Not again please!!

imran ahmad Jun 30, 2013 04:59pm

Lers pray that justice will be serve in this case

Sultan Alvi Jun 30, 2013 05:13pm

Another topi drama by the Don of Karachi. MQM has become a totally shameless party of Idol Worshippers.

Tas Jun 30, 2013 05:14pm

What a drama, pathetic

M Jun 30, 2013 05:13pm

I think he should now call far general strike in London as well.

Keen observer Jun 30, 2013 05:27pm

Media has been amazingly quiet about the details of raid and coverage of this issue . Altaf Hussein himself has talked more about it than anybody else. Media is exposed its interests or fears . Whichever be the reason, they are fast loosing their credibility.

babar Jun 30, 2013 05:35pm

Altaf Bhai is the only leader who is fighting against feudal lords and capitalists. He or his family never participated in any election, his ordinary workers get elected. He has done a long struggle for middle class people. He should lead the party for ordinary people. Long ive Altaf Hussain. Merci.

SYED Jun 30, 2013 05:41pm

The action of Altaf was just to dispel the negative propaganda of biased media campaign on heresy. In UK everybody knew that police don't release any thing which leads to the crime and they don't give public statement or speak to the press, until they have solid ground for the trial. But our media is constantly releasing biased stories.

RAJ KUMAR Jun 30, 2013 05:46pm

Let see how he black mail British Police. It is good for all countries that Britian will not give anybody political asylum.

aslam minhas Jun 30, 2013 05:53pm

This resignation saga has been repeated now for the fifth time if my count is correct. I think the heat is on. It were better if he announced an heir in case he is no mor available to lead the party.

adnan Jun 30, 2013 06:02pm

Another Oscar performance by Altaf.

Usman Ahmad Jun 30, 2013 06:03pm

Journalists job is to report free and unbiased incidents. To which every true journalist to uphold that sacred mission. And I am surprised that "DAWN" have failed because it never reported that latest news happened in UK. I live in USA read DAWN on daily bases. Now I won"t.

Umar Jun 30, 2013 06:01pm

Why is this news? This man is a dramabaz of the highest level. Always trying to grab attention by making controversial statements.

This is just to save himself from the embarrassment from the looming murder case. Now the British government is conspiring against him...the same government that gave him asylum when he is a wanted for various crimes in Pakistan.

aaa Jun 30, 2013 06:02pm

Happiness for the nation was shortlived.

Khawar T khyam Jun 30, 2013 06:11pm

It is amazing to see how quickly this party and its leader change their stance. On day they are in and next day they are out of Govt. Before you realize it they are again in. Altaf Bhai is having no spine. He can turn and twist on any side.

Naveed Abid Jun 30, 2013 06:10pm

Drama Queen!

M R Khawaja Jun 30, 2013 06:13pm

Like all other politicians he tops the list of Jokers almost all of them are Criminals specially him and most of others have committed crime not killings like him but corruption dishonesty and incompetency is their best quality. Do not Blame Musharraf he did the best he could for the people of Pakistan when in power while others gave them democracy to eat and drink and keeps the lights on only thing he did wrong was he should have eliminated so called political leaders at the moment he must be regretting now.

Khawar T khyam Jun 30, 2013 06:17pm

Previously Pakistani Govt, Sindhi, Punjabi, Pakhtoon and Baloch were discriminating against Altaf Bhai and now British Govt also. When you see every one is saying that you are wrong then it is better you should accept it. Whole world cannot be wrong. Where there is smoke there is fire. If Altaf Bhai is not guilty of wrong doing then he should not be scared.

Khawar T khyam Jun 30, 2013 06:16pm

@Umar: Which Nation?.

Khawar T khyam Jun 30, 2013 06:22pm

@Safdar: So right you are.

Burki Jun 30, 2013 06:22pm

and so the natak baazi continues. I was looking at the live video stream of the "khitaab" from UK and am surprised how so many people can become devoid of any common sense & decent level of intelligence that they would fall for this kind of stupidity and for so long. It is really unfortunate.

kamran Jun 30, 2013 06:32pm

Altaf bhai go go,we fully behind you ,your speeches make us laugh than you contradict yourself in next speech by saying "I mean this not that",you said Karachi should be separated than you clarify "no,it was taken in wrong context" but it is on youtube you went to India and you commented against two nation theory,my late father who came from India he is turning in his grave, please don't hijack Urdu speaking people by playing this dirty card,we are in worst condition now, we were far better off before, you have turn your party in mafia rather then foresighted party i.e. educational institutional close every day,no work or business,we want a new leadership.

mohd Jun 30, 2013 06:31pm

I have seen this drama before.

j.s. Jun 30, 2013 06:43pm

"Shortly after news of the announcement on TV channels around 5 am, a large number of "ZOMBIES" were started gathering at the MQM's 'Nine Zero' headquarters in Karachi as well as offices in other parts of the country. The "ZOMBIES" have requested Altaf to take back his resignation."

KHAN Jun 30, 2013 06:46pm

So circus continues, this happens only in Pakistan. What is next, he is gonna brag that he left the Chairmanship but because MQM folks cannot function without me!

Abu Jun 30, 2013 06:54pm

@Adeel: He is a character.

Mirza Jun 30, 2013 06:50pm

A true Dramay baz. Incompetent man playing with the lives of millions.

nadeem Jun 30, 2013 07:14pm

@Shah Faisal: My best friends are all urdu speaking people, they are well educated and belong to good families. Two things are common amongst them 1.They all dislike Altaf Hussain and MQM. 2..They all have voted for PTI now. I hope after getting good education you will also join them.

Bilal Jun 30, 2013 07:21pm

This is a reality,Altaf Husain is the leader of MQM and he deserve all this respect ,unlikely the situation of Karachi but what have done our intelligence and military In the whole country these institutions has fully paralysed in there part that is peace ,so accountable them and then criticise

Saad(DXB) Jun 30, 2013 07:33pm

Through this stint, Altaf Hussain has successfully achieved his objective of pressurizing the newly elected Pakistani government not to allow London Metropolitan Police and Scotland Yard from meeting the suspects already held in the custody of Pakistani Security Agencies. These are the same suspects who were arrested immediately upon their return from a foreign country, several months ago. We all know what information those suspects carry and how it can destroy the political career of Altaf Hussain and MQM et all.

Bond 007 Jun 30, 2013 07:40pm

Bond 007 Jun 30, 2013 07:43pm

I hope one day truth will prevail and terrorism will come to an end in Karachi

Zahra Shireen Jun 30, 2013 07:41pm

Sorry did Mr Altaf Hussain not know that when he will resign the people would cry and beg him to why the drama. If he was so serious why did he not appoint someone as the party leader so that the party could be looked after while Mr Altaf Hussain was dealing with the international conspiracies against him and MQM. I am sure the people who love him would have accepted the new leader if he was selected by AH himself.

babar Jun 30, 2013 07:40pm

at least this drama was better than lift falling drama where skull and back fractured person was not using the nearby ambulance and within an hour he was addressing on TV and then was unable to come to the national assembly. So who is better actor Altaf Hussain or Imran Khan. Everyone can reach the logical conclusion.

TKhan Jun 30, 2013 07:41pm

Mr. Altaf Hussain is questioning and accusing British Government of conspiracy; the very Government that gave him protection and freedom to operate MQM? Not a very wise move.

Aftab Kenneth Wilson Jun 30, 2013 07:47pm

Is this a political party or a Cult? I hope our government is aware beforehand to control this out of control party if British Police takes any action. Police in UK have their own system and does not come under the control of any politician or siting government as it happens in our country.

nisar Jun 30, 2013 07:46pm

The topi drama has become a regular feature in MQM. Why are they all of sudden become concerned about British Scotland yard's investigation. If they are innocent than they should not be bothered. If they are involved which every body believes than it would be better for Altaf to seek political asylum in Pakistan as British Police are known for not sparing any excused

Azhar Hussain Jun 30, 2013 07:48pm

Please leave and take you members with you so that we Karachiates can live in peace. London Police is closing in....

I. Ahmed Jun 30, 2013 08:02pm

Sala Nautanki, ghari ghari drama karta hai

shabut Jun 30, 2013 08:18pm

MQM is nothing but a theater company staging many different dramas to get attention. It shows their utmost incompetency in politics. They can only rule by fear which they have always maintained on the streets of Karachi but that fear is slowly vanishing now. Pakistan does not need comedians like Altaf.

asim Jun 30, 2013 08:21pm

@Badar : Of course Karachi and Pakistan will not be same after this. Agreed, much safer and peaceful than now.

shabut Jun 30, 2013 08:24pm

@Badar : Absolutely, Karachi and Pakistan will not be the same without him since It will be much better without him.

Sameer Jun 30, 2013 08:26pm

Please for Pakistan sake, RESIGN and dont take it back!!!!! Great Nautanki.

Does he even realize how many people/family from Karachi has moved to Dubai, Canada and other places just because of his party harassment.

Optimistic Realist Jun 30, 2013 08:34pm

@Abbas: right, police is not politicised there like Pakistan, infact Police is independent, Question is, will he be able to blackmail UK and metropolitan police?

hamid Jun 30, 2013 08:50pm

Once he is convicted by the British Courts, Pakistani people will start worshiping him more for his sacrifices. That's the extent of political understanding of Pakistanis. People choose their own leaders and these are the ones that Pakistanis have chosen. Good luck to them.

Arif Jun 30, 2013 08:49pm

Wow, nice to see that the majority of us have the same feelings!....i wonder....even the MQM workers also probably knew that this is all drama?!

Firoz Jun 30, 2013 09:14pm

Goes around comes Around

fida sayani Jun 30, 2013 09:38pm

I posted the first comment on this news that he will withdraw his resignation. This came true.

Bill Gates Jun 30, 2013 09:50pm

@Altaf: This is a Drama Game which he is playing to gain support from poor people of Azizabad, they don't better. They been seeing this for a long time. Imran Farooq's Murder is something need to be resolved. Scotland yard is looking into this, since Altaf made some comments about getting Karachi people to do something very stupid. And when People of Karachi call Scotland Yard and complain about Altaf. Now they are looking into this. Altaf is scared and that's why he want his people to protest so in that way Altaf can get some support, Very Clever Approach.

Bill Gates Jun 30, 2013 09:50pm

@Efaz: Why he's not even a Pakistani anymore. Living in UK and only thing he do is make telephonic Speeches. What is a use, Altaf knows if and when he come back, there some people waiting for him. Just remember one thing EFAZ, he is not making any progress for you or for MQM. You all are just feeding a gum and he is chewing it.

@H__3 Jun 30, 2013 10:10pm

AK Jun 30, 2013 10:30pm

There is no dawn without DAWN in my life. I am disappointed (especially from DAWN) to see media relayed the whole pre-planned "stage drama" without sharing their professional view. If we, as readers understand then why can't media? We are Pakistanis and we fight everyday to survive. One can never fool a street smart. Our Urdu speaking brothers and sisters please wake up..... 5 years ago Zardari did the same. He first refused to take presidency and then upon "workers request" took the post. Come on you cant make us fool like this for ever....

Raja Jun 30, 2013 10:26pm

This guy is a joker.

Mansoor Haq Jun 30, 2013 10:32pm

This guy has humiliated urdu speaking people all over and have made them a laughing stock.

Khan Jun 30, 2013 10:34pm

I want to remind you that, in the house of Altaf, most of the portion is MQM office and there is staff who works 24 / 7. So, if any investigation or search of items has been not be fooled, they may not suspecting the leader of the party.

Also, MQM has supporters who supported MQM in all respect, therefore any property under MQM name does not mean that it belong to Altaf.

On the other hand the leaders of Pakistan has looted all of you in daylight and now have property much much more than you all think....... but you all have accepted that and voted them again and again.

Now, let me ask you all, do you have moral courage to call a spade a spade?

JOHN Jun 30, 2013 10:39pm

Does Altaf bhaii has any job? where does he get money to pay his bill? What is his qualification. Please let the readers know.

marghoobahmedsiddiqui Jul 01, 2013 01:41am

It was his usual drama.

Anam Jul 01, 2013 01:57am

heck of a drama by a hilarious actor.

azmat khan Jul 01, 2013 01:58am

Simply Altaf bhai cooperate with British police and the courts. If you then come out clear it will enhance your image and make you a greater leader.Good luck.

Enaam E. Hanid Jul 01, 2013 02:59am

@@fasihul haque: A lie.

Enaam E. Hanid Jul 01, 2013 03:01am

@Siddiqui : Do you think GOD helps criminals?

Josh Jul 01, 2013 05:08am

This is all politics..Altaf Hussain will never leave his post, This is to put pressure on both the governments please do not come under this pressure and go for it and if he is guilty he should be punished. I just don't understand being the head of MQM he runs his party from

kirther Jul 01, 2013 05:16am

Why can't Pakistanis get rid of all the excess baggage which is costing them billion of dollars and creating a negative image in the world, this also includes PPP and PML-N. Is there a national leader on political scene to guide the nation in the right direction?

mike ghaous Jul 01, 2013 05:25am

@M: 'good times for pakisan' ha ha wait & see what Sharifs gonna do

Bhai Jul 01, 2013 05:28am

@Altaf: Drama it is, but neither well written nor well executed. We have seen this all too many times before.

Ajaya K Dutt Jul 01, 2013 05:33am

Politics in Pakistan.

GKRasool Jul 01, 2013 05:55am

Altaf Bhai is a man for all seasons, condemns feudalism but joins their government, talks of civil liberties but joined military dictator for 8 years, speaks about the rights of poor but lives lavishly in Britain. Master of political somersaults has no principle - only ignorant urdu speaking class follows him

Ghani K Jul 01, 2013 05:57am

Amazingly, Dawn publication never calls his bluff, no editorial comments or other so called political, cultural pundits of this paper never come out with scathing comments.

Akbar Ahmad Jul 01, 2013 06:03am

@sh: Why should he leave ? When thousands listen to his gibberish speeches & no one questions him. He lives comfortably away from the misfortunes of common man.

Anwar Amjad Jul 01, 2013 06:28am

The British Police would not go against anybody in this manner unless they had a solid case. Perhaps Altaf Hussain was a bit reckless and tried the same tactics in Britain which he used in Pakistan to deal with the dissenting party members. Now the only chance for survival of MQM is to bring in a new leadership otherwise the whole party will sink with Altaf Hussain.

ahmed01 Jul 01, 2013 07:32am

I have to salute UK Police for getting to the bottom of this case. This last nail will close a long awaited chapter of Altaf's dictatorship. I hope the people of Karachi will help throw Altaf and replace with someone who belongs to them. Jul 01, 2013 09:12am

This guy is famous for dramas. He has done such gimmicks many times even before. The Scotland Yard has yet to charge him for the slaughter but the guy understands which way the wind is blowing and is acting accordingly to preempt the reality.

Ayesha Jul 01, 2013 11:41am

Joker Jul 01, 2013 11:51am

hahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah...... thats how serious Altaf was.

NK Ali Jul 01, 2013 11:53am

Every time there is a 'khat pat' or 'nok jhok' between PPP and MQM, this issue pops up. Scotland Yard consisting of highly qualified and competent police officers, does not take so long to investigate a murder case. Altaf Hussain is just building up a case to join the PPP coalition. The day he announces to rejoin the coalition on some whimsical excuse, the investigation may be suspended. Salams

Mohammad M. Ansari Jul 01, 2013 05:49pm

Altaf Bhai is very good at creating drama with the unwarranted support of news media. He resigned probably 14th time in his tenure. If media stop covering his resignation, he will stop too and come to senses. .

Threshold Jul 01, 2013 08:30pm

Sir Altaf Hussain Is A Great And Brave leader I Respect Them Altaf Sir But Please You dont Leave mqm . Because u are a great leader of MQM .I Like You !

Ali Jul 01, 2013 08:44pm

Karachites are educated people. I am not sure what they see in him.

Sheikh Jul 01, 2013 11:09pm

@Jam: Altaf bhai doesnt even qualify to run a photocopy machine.

Arshad Sherazi Jul 01, 2013 11:08pm

@AK: are so correct.

Faisal Jul 02, 2013 12:15am

sheraz Jul 02, 2013 03:15am

I am amazed to see that not even a single person wrote in Altaf favor, why don't he contact some Bollywood producers, he is a good actor rather than a politician, fpr God sake don't take your resignation back, now you make a lot of money and soon your friend Zardari is also coming, so enjoy your life and leave the nation under some new leadership, God Bless you.

Talal Khairi Jul 02, 2013 03:51am

Salam o alaikum warehmatullah,

I belong to Urdu speaking community and it surprises me that why people from my community support this clown. Altaf has been in exile since its supporters were being persecuted. Why he has to be in exile since then ? Why doesn't he come back and fight for his people. It is a shame that people of Karachi couldn't find any educated person to lead their struggle and all they found was this joker. May Allah have mercy on everyone and give wisdom to people of Karachi. (Ameen)

Asif Jul 02, 2013 04:32am

Altaf Bhai Zinda baad...MUHAJIR ZINDA BAAD

khan Jee Jul 02, 2013 06:50am

I really felt for him when I saw him cry Crocidile Tears. I thought he was crying for Quetta victims then I found out he was crying for megre self.

I feel sorry for the brain dead people who call themselves his supporters. Every day the political shutter down strikes he calls for results in the working class starving that day. Forced Shutter down strikes are another form of bata , has anyone thought about that.

Intesar Jul 02, 2013 10:18am

The two men arrested should be moved to a secure location as I'm sure this joker is negotiating their deaths with our "honest" politicians. Even Scotland Yard can't build a case without the primary witnesses.

Rahil Jul 02, 2013 11:06am

@Mohammad M. Ansari: Agreed except "him coming to senses"

Zuhaib Jul 02, 2013 01:32pm

In this Sunday morning show, altaf bhai was the guest and the host..:-P

Haq Nawaz Jul 02, 2013 01:44pm

@Ghani K : The journalista have their lives and families to think of. They are aware of the consequence of any carelessness in this regard

Isleepdoc Jul 02, 2013 04:37pm

Reading some of the comments here brings me to the conclusion that ignorance is at its peak in Pakistan. We all know that imran farooq was his right hand. Being a British citizen and knowing how good British police is Altaf would never make such a foolish mistske, However people involved in this hidious crime are the same fools who are working againt MQM for so long. We know pakistani agencies have long hands!!! The real culprit will be soon exposed.

WhoAmI Jul 02, 2013 04:42pm

He is trying to set a record for most resignations in the Guinness World Records. Leave him alone!

Gulab Khan Jul 02, 2013 07:33pm

Altaf Hussain is a great leader. We need him. He is only leader in Pakistan who never run for any seat or position. he is the leader of middle class. People of Karachi always oppressed by oppressors. Example of sports, Karachi Zebra won two major events this year again, Qauid-e-azam and One day tournament but not a single player from this team in Pakistan current cricket team. No one talk about this in TV shows. Only Altaf Bhaee has a guts to talk to establishment. Rest of the leaders are working for establishment. We will not allow Altaf Bhaee to go back to Pakistan. He is our asset. We will continue support MQM financially and morally.

Observer Jul 03, 2013 01:36am

He may or may not be responsible for this murder, but he IS responsible for hundreds of thousands of murders of daily wage earners when they go home hungry because of his ridicolous strike calls!! Wake up people....some day before its too late!

Grey Parrot Jul 03, 2013 02:54am

why every one worried let the law decide ............................. Urdu speaking people being deprived and if they want justice local body system ........... devolution ........... democratically ... their voices being stopped ......... MQM IS THE ONLY party who always fight for Urdu speaking people ...... Altaf Hussain is the personality that matter ...... look at the comments people posted whether in his favor or not ,,,,,,,,,,,,, Urdu speaking people must get united ............ they must remember ....... all other communities are against us and they all want to rule on us ...... like they did on Bengali ........... when BLA blast zyart residency and raise slogan for independence ........ every one kept silent .... when pashtooon from Baluchistan ask for separate province same as for sariki ..hazara no body responded ...... double standard .....

Kubra Jul 03, 2013 03:50am

Altaaf hussain and Resignation? Wow! Suchaa dramaa QUEEN!
