HARIPUR, May 16: In spite of formal inauguration of the 210-bed new DHQ hospital, the health department has not made the health facility operative for the general public.

The CM NWFP Akram Khan Durrani inaugurated the first phase of new hospital during his visit to Hazara on 29th of the last month.

The CM during official briefing on the hospital was apprised that since the project had delayed for eight years and had been now completed the district government and health department had decided to commission the 1st phase of the hospital with provisional changes in the original structural arrangements.

He said though the shifting of 1st phase, which comprised OPD, casualty, pathology, X-ray, ICU, medical ward and 40 beds for non-surgical patients, would be completed by 30th of June this year, the Out Patient Department would now onward be opened for patients.

The source said that the entire district is running short of over 50 per cent health staff.
