LAHORE, June 26: An early goal by Aamir Sohail helped Sialkot annex the third Prof. Syed Fida Hussain Shah PHF Inter-academy Hockey Championship title as they defeated Lahore 1-0 in the final at the Iqbal Khan Hockey Stadium in Abbottabad on Wednesday.

Aamir scored on a field attempt in the 12th minute as no goal was added in the remaining part of the final.

Earlier, Peshawar claimed third place defeating Faisalabad 4-3 on penalty strokes.

At the end of the regulation time, both the teams were locked at 2-2. Five penalty-strokes were given to each side to decide the winners. Peshawar scored on two while Faisalabad could net only one goal.

Amjad (27th minute) and Nabeel (42nd) scored for Peshawar in regulation time while Yasir and Farman scored on penalty-strokes for Peshawar.

For Faisalabad, Abu Bakr (8th) and Mohammad Asad (44th) scored the goals.

Murtaza Javed Abbasi, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, was the chief guest who distributed the prizes after the final.
