TAXILA, June 23: A man and his minor daughter were found dead in their house at Hassanabdal on Sunday morning.

Police and hospital sources said Umer Farooq along with his two-year-old daughter Momina Bibi had slept in their single-room house at the Irshad Nagar locality after switching on a generator.

When they did not wake up on Sunday morning, their neighbours broke the door open and found them breathless.

The generator was still on. They were shifted to the THQ hospital where doctors pronounced them dead.

In another incident, the body of an unidentified man was found at the Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway (M-1) in the limits of the Taxila police.

The police said the victim, in his 30s, was shot dead somewhere else and his body thrown at the motorway.

The killers had also thrown acid on his face to conceal his identity. The police shifted the body to the THQ hospital for an autopsy and identification. A citizen reported to the Wah Cantonment police that unknown persons abducted his 15-year-old daughter on Sunday.—Correspondent
