KHAIRPUR, May 14: The villagers held a protest demonstration against Hesco officials for disconnecting the electricity supply by marching from Union Council Sami to Sobhodero on Wednesday.

They were led by 10 councillors of Union Council Sami and observed a sit-in outside the Sobhodero Press Club.

Speaking on the occasion, their representative said that the SDO, Hesco, had disconnected the electricity supply to the localities of Kheer, Syed and Siyal.

They threatened to go on hunger strike if no action was taken against the SDO.

ROBBED: Four armed men robbed the Sachal Sarmast Petroleum Agency, near Khuhra, Gambat Taluka, on Tuesday.

The armed men barged into the agency, started beating two men, Mohammad Ali Jarwar and Shehzor Jarwar, and snatched Rs50,000.

CLASH: Two groups of villagers started clashing over a land dispute when reconciliation talks being held by the Nazim, Sobhodero Taluka, failed on Tuesday.

Both groups started exchanging kicks and punches. Later, they registered counter cases against 17 people.

Both Ghulam Rasool Sehto and Ghulam Nabi Sehto have deployed their men at the site of the disputed land.

ARRESTED: The Thari Mirwah police have arrested some men from the Mandan village, near Thari Mirwah, following a clash between two groups of Mandan tribesmen.

ACTIVISTS: At least 10 PPP activists of the Mithri village, Kot Diji Taluka, have announced to resign from the PPP and join the PML(F) on Monday.

Those who joined the PML(F) included Syed Mazhar Shah Bukhari, Haji Khan Shanbhani, Dodo Khan, and Bakhar Khan.
