LAHORE, June 18: Four more matches were decided in the third Prof Syed Fida Hussain Shah PHF Inter-academy Hockey Championships in Abbottabad on Tuesday.

According to the details, two-goal M Asad helped Faisalabad trounce Bahawalpur 5-0.

Asad struck goals in the 17th and 38th minutes with Amir (ninth), Saqlain (15th) and M Riaz (28th) being the other scorers.

In the other match, a 29th minute goal by Abdul Nafas enabled Quetta to escape a scare as their match against Karachi-I ended in 1-1 draw.

Earlier, Ghulam Ali had put Karachi-I ahead with a field goal in the ninth minute.

In the third match of the event, a 27th minute successful field raid by Faizan helped Sialkot beat Bannu 2-1.

Khairullah (first minute) scored a field goal for Bannu, while Wajiullah (11th) restored the parity before Faizan fired the winner.

Two-goal Irfanullah guided Peshawar to a 3-1 win against Abbottabad in the fourth match of the day.

Irfan sounded the board twice in the 25th and 33rd minutes while Bilal struck a goal in the 32nd with the lone goal for the losing side coming through Atif in the 27th minute.

Wednesday’s fixtures:

Karachi-II v Faisalabad; Gojra v Bahawalpur; Bannu v Quetta; Lahore v Sialkot.
