KARACHI, May 24: A condolence reference for late journalist Akhtar Payami, a former News Editor of Dawn, was held on Friday to pay tribute to his contributions during his long association with Dawn and Morning News.
The meeting organised by the Dawn Unit of Karachi Union of Journalists was addressed by Payami’s son Prof Sikander Mehndi and senior journalists Mohammad Ali Siddiqui and Javed Bokhari.
Zubaida Mustafa in a message from Islamabad recalled Payami Sahib’s humane qualities and humbleness and his professional approach.
Zaheer Ahmed Khan and Afzal Baloch also paid tribute to their late senior colleague.
