QUETTA: Levies foiled a major terrorism bid in Balochistan's Pishin district on Tuesday morning.

Levies personnel conducted a raid in Saranan area of Pishin and seized an explosive-laden pick up.

A levies official, who requested not to be named, told Dawn.com that one suspect was also taken into custody during the operation.

He said the terrorists had planned to shift the explosive-laden vehicle from Saranan to Quetta to carry out a major terror attack adding that bombs and detonators were also recovered by the Levies personnel during the operation that lasted for an hour.

The arrested suspect was shifted to Quetta for further investigation.
