NAWABSHAH, May 16: Activists of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Thursday lodged cases against one another over the killing of two persons.

Bilal Asadi, son of deceased Ghulam Rasool Asadi who was former councillor belonging to the MQM, lodged an FIR against Javed Arain, elder brother of the PPP’s MPA-elect Tariq Masood Arain, Suhail Lakho, an office-bearer of the Sindh Peoples Students Federation, and one unidentified person, at the A-section police station.

In another FIR lodged by Asif Gabool, brother of deceased PPP worker Deedar Gabool, the A-section police booked Syed Hasan Askari, member of the MQM zone committee Nawabshah, Dr Naeem-ul-Arfeen, former UC nazim of the MQM, Younis, Shahrukh and nine identified people for murder.

In another FIR lodged at the Airport police station, 19 MQM workers, including Shabbir alias Puncture, Nazeer Pathan, Shakeel Qureshi, Nadeem Qureshi, Nizam Malik, Danish Yousufzai and Shahzad Yousufzai, were booked for setting ablaze a shop of PPP worker Mushtaq.

No arrests were made till the filing of this report.
