KARACHI, May 8: The inaugural National Cadet Boxing Championship will be launched at Ali Muhammad Qambrani Boxing Stadium Kakri Ground from Friday.

Around 88 pugilists representing hosts Sindh, Punjab, NWFP, Balochistan, Karachi Port Trust, Pakistan Army, Navy and WAPDA will be featuring in this competition.

As per international rules, boys in age group of 15-17 will be taking part in three-day competition.

The medical test and weigh-in of the boxers will be held at National Sports Training and Coaching Centre from 8 A.M. to 10.00 A.M.

SBA has in the meantime named its 14-member squad for the championship including three officials.

Team included Jibran Munna (46kg), Nisar Sona (48kg), Muhammad Ali (50kg), Ali Muhammad (52kg), Rizwan Tanoli (54kg), Karrar Hussain (57kg), Abdul Rauf (60kg), Naseer Ahmed (63kg), Nadir Khan (67kg), Barkat (70kg) and Shukarullah (75kg).

Sher Muhammad Baloch and Ahmed Ali Hazara will be coaches of the team and Saleem Rajput will be the manager.—APP
