KARACHI: Woman kills husband

KARACHI, May 8: A woman killed her husband in Defence Housing Authority late Wednesday night.

Naghma, aged 21, stabbed her husband, Kamran Nawazish, aged 27, in their apartment in Badar Commercial Area. The woman stabbed her husband in the chest, the police said. Kamran died before he could be taken to hospital.

The body was sent to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for post-mortem.

The police arrested Naghma on Thursday for killing her husband.

According to initial investigations, both husband and wife had a history of drug abuse.

ROAD ACCIDENT: A little boy died in a road accident in Baldia Town on Thursday.

The police said an unidentified boy was run over by a speeding vehicle. He died on the spot.

The driver of the vehicle sped off after the accident.

ARRESTED: The police arrested on Thursday a man at the City Courts who came over there to kill his wife who was seeking divorce from him.

The police said policemen on duty at Gate No 3 of the City Courts noticed a person clad in a burqa entering the premises. Policemen became suspicious and asked the person a few questions to ascertain whether he/she was a man or a woman. Since he responded to the questions in his natural voice, it was established that he was a man.

The police removed the veil and discovered a bearded man identified as Maula Bakhsh.

The police claimed to have recovered a pistol and four bullets from his possession.

He told the police that he came to the City Courts with the intention of killing his wife who filed a petition seeking divorce from him.
