Chief Justice`s pictures

Published May 28, 2009

THE Chief Justice of Pakistan, Iftikhar Muhammad Ahmed Chaudhry, is doing wonders. One more good thing that he should do for his own good and the good name of the judiciary is to ban the publication of his pictures in the print and electronic media by making it a punishable offence under the contempt of court.

The media focus on his visit to jails and address to bar councils may in times to come tarnish the image of the judiciary and lead him astray, because he is after all a human being.

His conduct should be in line with the unwritten codes of ethics for the judges of the superior court and not that for a political leader.
