LAHORE, May 1: Tough matches were witnessed in the 2nd Motorway Police U-16 Boys’ hockey championship where four more ties were decided on Wednesday.

In the first match, Peshawar and Multan ended in a 1-1 draw with Peshawar taking the lead in the 34th minute when Samiullah converted a penalty-corner. But Multan restored the parity in the 48th minute in the second half.

In another drawn match, a goal each by Muneeb and Junaid helped Bannu escape scare against Bahawalpur ending the match at 3-3 score.

Bahawalpur started off brilliantly, taking 2-1 lead in the first half.

Soon after the start of the second half, they increased the lead to 3-1. However, Bannu bounced back and scored back-to-back goals to share two points with their rivals.

In the other match, Rawalpindi have an easy sailing over Dera Ismail Khan, defeating the latter 3-0 with Zeeshan (9th), Adil Abbas (22nd) and Waleed Zakir (24th) being scorers.

Also, two goals in one minute by Waseem Aslam helped Karachi snatch a win from the jaws of defeat, beating Islamabad 2-1.
