LARKANA, Nov 7: Police claimed to have killed notorious dacoit Arbab alias Arboo Soodhar and arrested his two accomplices from a place near the village of Airee situated on the Larkana-Dadu border the other day. He carried the head money of Rs500,000. Speaking at a press conference in his office here on Wednesday, Larkana SSP Javed Soonharo Jiskani said police had found a clue to a meeting of three notorious dacoits Wishoon (Scorpion) Chandio, Fuji Suhag and Arbab alias Arboo Sodhar in the woods near the Sehar railway station. They were planning to commit some crime, he said.

Policemen in plain clothes with the support of a heavy contingent, along with an armoured personnel carrier, had been deployed in the area, he said. Sensing police movement inside the woods, three persons emerged on motorcycles and dodging police rode off different directions.

A police party which was close to one of the bikers chased him. After covering some distance an encounter took place near ‘Dhamraho wah’ and Arbab alias Arboo Sodhar was killed.

His accomplices Anwar Ali Sodhar and Rustam Ali Sodhar (brother of Arbab) were arrested. They were injured. Police seized two Kalashnikov rifle, three magazines and more than 300 live bullets from them. They were taken to the Chandka Medical College Hospital, the SSP said. But Wishoon Chandio and Fuji Suhag fled.—BoC
