KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain has strongly condemned the killing of three lawyers near city courts in Karachi as a result of firing of armed assailants.

Altaf Hussain expressed his grief and sorrow and said that killing of people belonging to different schools of thought was the outcome of a deep conspiracy, said a statement issued by MQM on Wednesday.

He said certain elements want to destroy the environment of peace and harmony and brotherhood in the city. He appealed to the ulema of all schools of thought to work for peace.

He asked them to show patience on the incidents of terrorism, protect each other and foil the conspiracy to create sectarian tensions by remaining united.

Altaf Hussain expressed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members of the lawyers killed in the attack and expressed sympathies to the lawyers' community.

He asked them to bear the loss with patience and restraint. Altaf Hussain has also prayed for the early recovery of the injured.
