PESHAWAR, Jan 12: The Peshawar High Court Bar Association here on Thursday announced support to the Supreme Court and demanded strict action against those who were defying its decisions.

An emergency general body meeting of the association, chaired by its president Khwaja Mohammad Khan Gara, unanimously passed a resolution asking all the in-stitutions to work within the limits ordained by the constitution.

The secretary general of PHCBA, Ameenur Rehman, presented the resolution through which the association reiterated its commitment to continue struggle for independence of judiciary, rule of law, supremacy of the constitution, freedom of press and elimination of corruption.'All the institutions are legally bound to work within their parameters ordained by the law and constitution and any deviation therefrom shall strictly be opposed, the resolution states.

It is added: 'The Supreme Court of Pakistan is enjoying full mandate of the legal fraternity of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and PHCBA and it shall maintain its independence at any cost.
