Blast wounds four in Karachi

KARACHI: At least four people were injured in a roadside blast at the Kalapul area on Karachi’s Korangi Road Tuesday morning.

“We have confirmation of four people being injured in the blast,” said a spokesman of the Central Police Office (CPO). The nature of the blast could not be ascertained, a bomb disposal official told APP.

The injured were identified as Manzoor 47, Rasheed 50, Kaneez 50 and Arshad 50, said on-duty Medico-Legal Officer (MLO) at the Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Hospital (JPMC) where the injured were shifted to.

Meanwhile, the Sindh Rangers detained 17 suspects during raids that were carried out in the last 24 hours in different parts of the city, including Manghopir, Gulshan-i-Maymar, Gadap Town, Singer Chowrangi Landhi and Khyaban-i-Shujaat area in Clifton Town.

The Rangers also recovered illicit weapons and a motorcycle from their possession.
