LAHORE, Oct 31: Ghalib Market police have arrested two men for allegedly demanding Rs6 million from the owner of a private health facility and his sister.

According to a Lahore police spokesman, Muhammad Javed and Muhammad Afzal were taken into custody on the complaint of Dr Aamir Ali Zeb of Hameed Lateef Hospital and his sister Kiran.

The police said Javed and Afzal had been hurling death threats at Zeb and Kiran to extort money from them. The police traced them with the help of their cell phone calls.

Robbery murder: Gunmen killed a 25-year-old motorcyclist on Bund Road in Shafeeqabad police precincts on Monday.

The police said gunmen hailed Muhammad Husain, of Mughalpura, and when he did not stop, they opened fire at him. When Husain fell, the suspects snatched cash and a cell phone from him.

Shot Dead: A youth killed a 40-year-old man in a barber shop on Alqayyum Road in Badami Bagh on Monday allegedly to avenge the murder of his father.

The police said Younas reached Shehzad's shop and opened fire on his rival Izat Khan, injuring both Izat and Shehzad. The suspect fled while the injured were taken to Mayo Hospital where doctors pronounced Izat dead.

According to police, Younas suspected that Izat was involved in the murder of his father.
