The Hindu festival of light, Diwali, marks the homecoming of Hindu god Lord Ram after vanquishing the demon king Ravana and symbolises taking people from darkness to light and the victory of good over evil. Hindus across India will celebrate Diwali, the festival of light, on Oct. 26.

Great Collection of pics. Just wanted to share that the earthen pot shown above are not actually lamps. These are used to store dry eateries made from various cereals such as Wheat and Rice. Only the first pic depicts a lamp, rest are all pots/utensils.
