ISLAMABAD: Minister for Sports Engineer Shaukatullah Monday said that a new hockey stadium of international standard namely Jaffarabad Hockey Stadium in Renala Khurd, Okara, would be completed by 2013.

“The estimated cost of the scheme is Rs. 48.468 million and the work on it will commence after the release of funds by Planning and Development Division,” he said in statement.

The stadium in Okara would be a much-needed addition as officials in Pakistan look to develop a strong infrastructure for hockey in the country which has witnessed a sharp decline over the last decade.
