NAWABSHAH, Feb 12: A kidnapped school teacher was recovered after an encounter in the Jam Sahab area on Saturday, police claimed.

DPO of Shaheed Benazirabad Mohammed Younus Chandio told reporters at a press conference in his office that police received information that kidnappers were shifting Bilawal Gabol from their hideout near Jam Sahab.

He said that a heavy contingent of police reached the place and bandits opened fire on it. Police retaliated and, after a brief encounter, the kidnappers escaped, leaving Bilawal behind.

Police recovered a Kalashnikov from there, he said, and added that police were chasing the bandits.

The DPO said that Bilawal was kidnapped from Moundar Gabol village on December 27, 2010, and alleged that bandits Nawaz Rajpar, Imdad Rind, Nabi Bux Gorchani and Jhando Rind were involved in kidnapping him.

Our Sukkur correspondent adds: A man was kidnapped from farm a village near Kashmore on Saturday.

Hafiz Ashiq Hussain was present at a poultry farm in Sardaro Khoso village when unidentified armed men came there and whisked him away.
