LAHORE, Oct 10 Fancied three-year-old bay filly Muntazir lived up to his bloodline superiority with a comfortable success to land the Super Cup run over 1,200 metres during the 6th Lahore Winter Meeting at the Racecourse here on Sunday.

The 5-4 second favourite daughter of Montaser, Muntazir dictated his own pace and led from the start to beat the 70-100 favourite colt Victory At Rome by three-and-a-half lengths.

Muntazir had by far the best credentials on bloodline and the last season's two consecutive victories. Her campaign was restricted to just two previous runs this term. She showed a good gallop in a field which turned out very weak vis-à-vis the standard of the opposition.

Bay filly Flying Fairy finished third four-and-a-half lengths back with chestnut filly Notia fourth, another two lengths behind.

Muntazir clocked relatively a fast timing of one minuet 13 seconds over the 1200 metres sprinting distance under jockey Shahid Rehman.

The most impressive winner of the day was four-year-old bay colt Aboor, who simply ran away from his rivals at the finish to win by two lengths. He beat bay colt Victory Gift by two lengths while Pole Star finished third.

S.A. Qaiser, generally considered a weak rider, demonstrated his best horsemanship of the ongoing season when he rode bay filly Imran Choice to a scintillating victory in the Kalar Kahar Plate (Special Division) run over the sprinting distance of 1,000 metres.

Imran Choice beat favourite filly Victory Smile by over a length in a fight of the six speedy contenders.

Dark-bay mare Silent Assassin finished third while bay gelding Umair Prince completed the frame.

Another good piece of riding came from apprentice Aftab Chaudhry who won the first race partnering bay filly Best One. The unknown filly warded off a strong challenge from bay filly Arham Princess who at one stage had surged ahead but a late spirited challenge saw Best One through to a half length victory at the finishing post.
