Akif, Salman shine in final

KARACHI, June 25 Tapal Cricket Club won the Wallis Mathias Memorial cricket tournament when they beat Mohammad Hussain CC by 98 runs in the final at the NBP Sports Complex Ground here the other day.

Batting first, Tapal CC piled up 296-7 in their 40 overs with opener Akif Alvi striking four sixes and five fours a 42-ball 74 and Salman Khan contributing 72 off 60 balls with the help of seven boundaries.

Mohammad Hussain CC, in reply, were restricted for 198-7 with Adnan Akhtar scoring 54.
