LAHORE, April 20 Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan denied on Tuesday that he got Canadian citizenship or received any commission for any development project in Faisalabad.

In a statement issued here, Khan said he owned no property or bank account in Canada. About the financial transaction cited in a news item, he said his brother and other relatives were residing in Canada for the last many years and they had been financing PML-N's election campaign on their own.

He said that election in the PP-70 constituency, from where he was elected to the Punjab Assembly, was held on June 26, 2008 instead of Feb 18 because of the death of one of the candidates.

As under the Election Commission rules no development work was done in the constituency before the election, there was no question of receiving any kickbacks for any project on June 20, 2008, the law minister concluded.
