KPT face NBP in soccer final

KARACHI, March 6 The Karachi Port Trust (KPT) and the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) will clash in the final of the KPT-PFF Cup on Sunday.

The all-Karachi affair will kick off at 3.30p.m at the KPT-Benazir Sports Complex and the chief guest for the final will be Sindh Sports Minister Dr. Mohammad Ali Shah.

Both KPT and NBP have never lifted the winning trophy of in the National Championship. However, they KPT did win the National Football Challenge Cup (NFCC) in 1990 and NBP achieved the same at BahawalpurIs Dring Stadium.

According to KPT Sports officer Shah Naeem Zafar, the team for the final will comprise Naseer Ahmed, Akhtar Mamil (vc), Sajid Hussain, Ehsanullah, Faraz Anwar, Mohammad Jalil, Jameel Ahmed, Mohammad Asif, Mohammad Waseem, Mohammad Ismail, Shakir Taj, Naveed Ahmed, Shahid Saleem, Zahid Ahmed, Mohammad bin Younus, Zafar Majeed, Mohsin Shah, Mohammad Ubaid, Jamaluddin and Mohammad Idriss. The officials will be Mohammad Ayub (manager), Nawaz Rehman and Abdul Ghani (Coaches), Mohammad Talib (Trainer).

Abdul Aziz, the two-time SAG Gold medalist, has been appointed captain for the final by NBP Sports officer Iqbal Qasim while other players for NBP are Amir Gul, Nadeem Sattar, Adil Ahmed, Yasir Sabir, Misbahul Hassan, Mehmood Khan (vc), Abbas Ali, Farooq Shah, Mohammad Ashraf, Atiqullah, Wasim Qadir, Adam Hameed, Imran, Ataullah, Akhtar Rasool, Mohammad Ashfaq, Jamil Ahmed, Junaid Khan, Mohammad Asif. The officials will be Abbas Ali (manager), Nasir Ismail (coach) and Qamar Ali (Assistant coach).—PPI
