LAHORE, March 6: The Punjab chief secretary has again summoned the seven teachers to appear for personal hearing on March 22 whose services were terminated under the Removal from Service (special powers) Ordinance, 2000, by the education department.
The chief secretary had earlier called them on Feb 27. However, the hearing was postponed as the chief secretary had to go to Islamabad along with the chief minister a day before the hearing.
The chief secretary summoned them on their representations sent to him on Dec 11 last.
JAC chairman Nazim Hasnain, Majid Wazir, Abdul Khaliq, Mehboob Husain, Muhammad Ijtaba, Muhammad Arif and Noorul Haq were sacked by the Punjab education department on Nov 25 last for violation of rules and regulations and taking part in agitation against the government.
Talking to Dawn, Mr Hasnain said the government was using delaying tactics and was not sincere in implementing chief minister’s orders to reinstate them.
Most probably, he said, the chief secretary would again not be available on March 22 because he would have to go to Islamabad to attend full dress rehearsal of Pakistan Day Parade.
