PESHAWAR, March 27: Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) on Wednesday issued initial list of candidates for seven National Assembly and 32 provincial assembly seats in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for the upcoming elections.

QWP Chairman Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao will contest election from NA-8, Charsadda-II and his son, Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao, from PK-21, Charsadda-V, according to party spokesman Akhtar Ali.

Mr Ali said Bakhtiar Ali was given ticket for NA-28, Buner, Amjad Ali Khan NA-30, Swat-II; Mohammad Umar NA-34, Dir (Lower); Muhib Gul Shalmani NA-35, Malakand, and Asghar Wazir NA-46, Khyber Agency.

The candidates contesting elections for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly are Malik Mohammad Nadim PK-1, Malik Sher Bahadur PK-2, Tahir Shahzad PK-4, Ibrar Khalil PK-5, Manzoor Khalil PK-6, Amir Khan Malizai PK-7 and Mohammad Shafi Daudzai PK-8 in Peshawar; Engineer Zulfiqar Aziz PK-13, Fayaz Khan Kheshgi PK-14 and Qaiser Khan Khattak PK-15 in Nowshera; Sultan Mohammad Khan PK-18, Arshad Ali Umarzai PK-19, Khalid Khan Zyam PK-20 and Sikandar Hayat Sherpao from PK-21 in Charsadda.

Likewise, Abdul Karim Khan Tordher will contest election from PK-34 in Swabi while other candidates from the same district would be named today (Thursday).

Naeema Shah will contest election from PK-44, Abbottabad-I, Ibrar Hussain PK-57, Mansehra-5, Asadullah Qureshi PK-63, Kohistan-III, Syed Muambar Bacha PK-77, Buner-I, Shamshad Ali Shah PK-78, Buner-II, Abdul Aziz PK-79, Buner-III, Fazl Rehman Nono PK-80, Swat-I, Afzal Shah PK-81, Swat-II, Jamil Ahmad PK-82, Swat-III, Sher Bahadurzada PK-83, Swat-IV, Nasrullah Khan PK-84 Swat-V, Haider Ali Khan PK-86, Swat-VII, Mutawakil Khan PK-87, Shangla-I, Bakht Baidar Khan PK-97, Lower Dir-IV, Bashir Ahmed Bacha PK-98, Malakand-I, Fakhr Alam Khan PK-99, Malakand-II and Abdul Wali Khan PK-89, Chitral-I.

QWP will name candidates for the constituencies in Mardan and southern districts soon, said party spokesman.

He said around 200 people had applied with QWP for national and provincial assembly seats and the parliamentary board had taken the decision to give tickets after interviewing them.

The parliamentary board comprised QWP central secretary general Aneesa Zeb, provincial president Sikandar Sherpao, former Senator Shujaul Mulk Khan and former Senator Haji Ghufran.

He said of women applicants, former MPA of PPP Naeema Nisar, who had recently joined QWP, had applied for PK-44, Abbottabad on general seats and Najma Zeb for NA-7 Charsadda-I.
