PESHAWAR, Oct 26: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa home department has taken notice of staging of shows in some of the cinemas of the provincial capital and directed the Peshawar DCO and the city police chief to ensure that no cinema hall is used for any other purpose except screening of films duly cleared by the censor board.

In a press release issued here on Friday, it is stated that the home department had noticed with great concern that reportedly certain cinema halls were being used for stage shows which are against the Cinematographic Act and rules made thereunder.

It is added that these stage shows, in some cases, promote vulgarity. Due to same reason directives were issued by the home department to the DCO and the CCPO. — Bureau Report
