RAWALPINDI: The Ministry of Defence has taken serious notice of allegations of Asma Jehangir, a senior Supreme Court lawyer and human rights activist.

The ministry in a statement on Friday, expressed concern that Asma Jehangir has publicly accused intelligence agencies of being the part of a plot to assassinate her.

“This is a very serious allegation which should have been articulated in an appropriate legal manner by her instead of raising the matter through the media,” it added.

“It will serve her personal security and national interest that she lodges a complaint and provides the necessary evidence, only then the matter can be properly investigated and appropriate steps could be taken”, the ministry noted.
