KARACHI: A young man was killed and his friend badly injured when their motorbike was hit by a fast-moving car in Bhains Colony on Saturday, police said.

They added that 25-year-old Junaid Akhtar and 23-year-old Shahzad Hashim were going home in Landhi from their workplace in Bin Qasim Industrial Area, when their two-wheeler collided with a fast-moving car on the National Highway.

“The car was actually coming from the wrong side and the riders could not control the speed of the motorbike to avoid the collision with the speedy four-wheeler,” said an official at the Shah Latif Town police station.

“The accident left both the youngsters badly injured, who were taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, where Junaid died of injuries. The car driver sped away after the accident. The victims were residents of Landhi No 6.”
