UPPER DIR: General Officer Commanding (GOC) Malakand Maj-Gen Ijaz Mirza announced Rs300,000 each for the martyred Aman Lashkar volunteers and Rs100,000 each for the injured persons from the Pak Army during his visit to the district on Monday to meet with wounded persons at the district headquarters hospital, Upper Dir.

A remote-controlled bomb targeted members of a defunct Aman Lashkar in far-off Gomadand area of the district the other day, killing four and wounding 22 others.

The GOC met with the injured persons in the hospital and directed the hospital authorities to provide best treatment to them.

Gen Mirza also met heads of defunct Aman Lashkars, Haji Mutabar Khan and Haji Shad Muhammad Khan.

Meanwhile, Mutabar Khan rejected the news circulating in media that the cause of the explosion was an old enmity.

He informed the GOC that three suicide attacks had targeted them in the past in which many precious lives were lost.

He said their sacrifices should not be undermined by such types of irresponsible statements.

The GOC said their sacrifices would not be forgotten. He also directed to provide two jammers and a vehicle to Mutabar Khan. Gifts were also presented to the injured persons from the GOC.

Meanwhile, FIR of the Gomadand bomb explosion was registered with the Counter-Terrorism Department against unidentified persons, CTD sources said.

They said the FIR was registered under sections 302, 324, 427 of the Pakistan Penal Code, 3/4 PSA and 7-ATA.
